Neon Cactus

Today I had lunch with John Carnett, staff photographer for Popular Science Magazine. I was a little nervous going into it, mainly because I was not too clear as to what about we were meeting...I mean, it would have been dream world if he looked at my portfolio and offered me an internship, but instead exactly what I though he would say (and needed to hear) was put on the table. One reason why I didn't continue school after my associates was because I was totally confused as to what my vision was. Throughout school my main teacher told me that techniqally I was there, but what I photographing and shooting for (hehe pun, shooting) was pointless. He wanted Diane Arbus and Ansel Adams, I like Miesel and color, lights. So it wasn't until this summer when I really started to clear my head and photograph my vision, and John pointed out that he didn't get a sense of me from my portfolio. We discussed a lot of things, but bottom line is, my camera will have to get used to night, neon, and these damn cold temperatures.
